I am a individual professional in Mechanical Design and Drafting. I have experience creating 3D models in Solidworks and then convert to 2D orthographic working drawing with full ANSI specifications. I have 20 years of professional experience in Mechanical and Structural design/drafting. In addition, I create professional 3D rendering and animations. I primarily use Solidworks 2012 and Autocad 2008 for all design and drafting work including renderings and animations. I have worked and/or working on many undisclosed projects using Solidworks.

Summary of Qualifications:

Experienced and trained in all phases of drafting and design, including implementing drawing packages from concept to product release. Experience in layout work in both structural and mechanical. Conform to ANSI Y14.5 including Geometric Tolerance and AISC standard drafting practices. Technical Engineering knowledge: Static stress analysis computations, Trigonometric and Geometric calculations, and Torque and Horse power calculations. General knowledge of engineering static’s, dynamics and other engineering principles.

Proficient in Windows based PC programs:

• Solidworks 2012 (3000 hours experience) (CSWA) & PDM

• Pro/Engineer WildFire 5 (CREO elements/Pro)

• AutoCAD 2012, 2008, 2000i

• AutoCAD Land Desktop 2006

• Microsoft Excel, Word, Front page, Outlook.

• MathCAD 2000

• Algor version 12 (FEA)

• 3D Studio Max 4 and Maya 2010(Animating and rendering)

Professional Experience:

Nov 2012- Present

Present Employment: I am currently working on 3 undisclosed projects for 3 undisclosed clients using Solidworks 2012. First project is a new undisclosed design and currently working a patent. Second project is cutting edge commercial lighting design. Third project is new tooling for speaker systems.

Solidworks Drafter (Temp Contract Work)

http://ariestechnicalconsulting.com

I worked with a team of Engineers and Drafters for critical components for a water desalination project (disclosed). Solidworks 2012 was used for creating models and drawings. This project is mechanical in nature with critical dimensional tolerances and GD&T.

Sept 2011, CNG-Design LLC, San Jose, CA
Solidworks 3D Modeler/ Mechanical Drafter (Temp Contract Work)

http://www.cng-design.com

CNG Design hired me as a temp position working on a exciting new energy efficient internal combustion engine project . This design is mechanical in nature and will greatly benefit automotive industry among other gas powered applications. Experience includes Solidworks modeling of spur gears, track rollers, pins, complex crank shaft, and internal combustion engine parts. Tolerance analysis was critical in this project. Detail drawings of machining parts were created. This is a prototype project in which precision was priority. Solidworks animation was the final step for marketing purposes.

Dec 2007 -  Sept 2010, Goodman Ball Inc., Menlo Park, CA

3D Modeler/ Mechanical Drafter (Consultant)

http://www.goodmanball.com

Goodman Ball engineers and manufactures military applications particularly backup generators and water purifiers. Experience includes Autocad drawings and 3D models of steel welded frames, sheet metal, ball valves, couplings, steel castings, brackets for hydraulics components. Autocad work included part and assembly drawings with BOM and exploded views. Example project: mobile hydraulic tank on wheels.

Jan 2006 - Feb 2007, Bowman and Williams, Santa Cruz, CA

Civil Drafter

Design experience: Worked on amusement park rides, primarily roller coasters. Responsible for layout and detailing massive track supports which are both columns and towers which is placed in reference to topographic map and architectural drawings. Layout work done in 3D Autocad, structural use wire frame, and mechanical components use solid models. Drafting work normally done in standard orthographic projection. Successively completed five major hyper coasters, one Kiddy Coaster, two Carousels, one Rocket Ride.

Nov 1989 - Feb 1997, TLD Lantis, Salinas, CA

Mechanical Designer/ Drafter
